I like the sound of nylon strings, and would order them, but first a question: Can I put nylon strings on juat any banjo? I'm not talking about the mechanics, or what they might or might not do to the neck, etc., I'm interested in sound quality. Is there anything in particular that might keep a banjo built for steel strings from sounding good with nylon strings? I know there is, for guitars -- guitars built for steel strings usually have heavier construction, and that puts a real damper on trying to use nylon strings on steel string guitars.
I'd appreciate any opinions you may have, and thanks in advance.
