I did some searching on the Banjo Hangout today to learn a little bit more about Morgan Sexton and his playing style, especially 2 finger and thumb lead. It's a style I'd like to start working on. For the last couple of months, I've really wanted to get in to something new, and 3 finger bluegrass style just seems like something my fingers don't want to do.
While searching, I came across this video that was posted in June 2011 on the hangout, and wanted to post it again for those who weren't around then or hadn't seen it yet. Forgive me if it's been posted recently as well.
The video was incredibly inspiring to me, and is a reminder that I have so much to learn about the banjo - not only how to play it, but the rich history behind the instrument.

There is also a transcript that may help you if you read along with while you watch.
I've found some great resources on the hangout for thumb lead. http://2ftlbanjer.wordpress.com/ and Janalov's tabs are a great help in getting started with a new adventure.
If any one has any other video's or advice for thumb lead 2 finger banjo, let me know.
I hope you will enjoy the video as much as I did. It's something I'll be thinking about a lot in the days ahead.
