Well I've been practising for nearly three weeks now since receiving my new banjo (RK025 and still in love with it.). After a week or so I felt like I was getting nowhere and that I would never get away from bum-diddy, but now i'm beginning to sense a little progress. One or two difficulties have become apparent, and the most important one which I need to sort out is the disappearing of my thumb. I'm sure you all know what I mean by this. It's either that the thumb stops altogether when I'm concentrating on hitting other strings with middle finger, or I don't get enough volume from the thumb uplift. This doesn't happen all the time but I just keep drifting in and out of it. Advice welcome, and if there are any specific excercises to help iron this out, please let me know. Thanks in advance. M
