I've been playing clawhammer only a short time. I'm a long time guitar player, and familiar with many tunes, so this is helpful to my progress.
It's going to take some time before I'm able to play with both power and accuracy, I realize this, and eventually the two will start to come together. Because I've been playing music for so long, my sense of time is pretty decent. But, for now, I'm at a stage where I can play banjo either with accuracy, but not much power, or with drive, but more sloppily.
My timing is pretty good either way, I just can't play clean and with volume, yet. I'll of course continue to work on both, but when I have to lean on one or the other (i.e. when playing with others), I'd love to know your thoughts about which I should tend to emphasize?
