I would like some input about lateral hand stretches on or off the fingerboard that would improve my ability to stretch laterally. Examples of stretches the I have trouble with are:
1. Pinkie on the 5th fret of the fourth string to do a hammer on with the index finger on the second fret of the third string.
2. Index finger on first sting at the second fret doing a hammer onto the third string at the 5th fret.
3. middle finger on the fourth sting at the second fret doing fretted pull-off with ring finger on the third.
I can do these techniques but if my stretch improved my stretched finger would be closer to the fret resulting in a cleaner sound.
I would like an explanation of each stretch, but also how many repetitions do you do each stretch for and then how often. I ask because I am an athlete and have found many injuries rooted in too much too soon and too often.
Thanks...
