I am a relative beginner, but have been working hard at my old time style. I most enjoy playing with an up pick, downward brush and thumb style,(with quite a bit of double thumbing and drop thumb) even though I continue to work with my downward clawhammer. Do players stay with this "pick-brush-thumb" style or is it meant to only lead toward true clawhammer as a beginner advances? If so, is there a name for this type of playing? Sorry if this is very basic and I appreciate any advice in advance...have a great day!
