Just joined BHO because thru all the research I've done so far this group seems like a great place to start! Everyone seems dedicated to the banjo and willing to help anyone in its community. Thank you for allowing me as a member.
I will have many questions to follow but I need to start from the beginning because I'm greener than green. I am just starting, I don't even have a banjo yet. So Clawhammer or Scruggs? I will mainly be playing for myself. I hope to get good enough to play for friends and family and small sessions with friends. Would like to maybe sing along with my playing also. Don't have any plans to play with a band.
One last question, open-back or not. I see many suggestions for the Deering goodtime which I think I like without knowing anything. But what about the Deering goodtime classic, since for a little more you get the capo spikes already? My head is just spinning with uncertainty, advice would be greatly appreciated,
