Howdy banjophiles!
Now in its fourth year, the Julian Family "Fiddle" Camp offers stellar instruction not only in fiddle, but old-time banjo, flatpick guitar, mandolin, upright bass and Appalachian flatfoot dance. The 2014 Camp runs April 9 - 13, and is held at a beautiful family retreat center in Julian, CA. In addition to Chris Coole, this year's instructors also include Katie Glassman (National, Colorado and Texas fiddle champion), Sharon Gilchrist (Mandolin maestro for Tony Rice, Darol Anger and a slew of others), Scott Law (Guitar master from Portland, OR), Gene Libbea (Former bass player for the Nashville Bluegrass Band), and Rebecca Stout (Award-winning Appalachian flatfooter and singer/songwriter).
Folks, this is simply the best acoustic music camp in S. Calif. Small, intimate classes with everyone getting a great deal of individual attention over the 4/5 day period. Good food, lovely setting, fantastic evening concerts, and a more picking than you can imagine.
Check out the Camp's website or, better yet, give me a call at the number below. Truth is, the fiddle sections are nearly full, with only a few spaces left for banjo folks, so get in touch soon.
