With comments like "Breaking out of the chord ghetto" and "leave the four string chord brushes to the campfire sing-along banjo players" I love this place. Still very new, still finding my feet. I started with bluegrass, moved after a month to clawhammer and loved it. But I thought clawhammer was bum-ditty. And that's all I did. A few posts later, including last night's about chords, and off I go again. It's not about rigid, strict rules, being right or wrong, it's about making that banjo sound good. The best thing about BHO forums is the encouragement to try other stuff, other techniques, and the sheer variation of ideas. Without all the comments I think the banjo would be gathering dust already. But it isn't, and I think I'll stick around....
