Returning to the banjo?

I played clawhammer banjo for about 2 years while taking lessons. My teacher became ill and retired. I would say I was a beginner with developing skills. I was 40 when I started and it was my first  instrument. I have always found the sound of the banjo pleasing although I never listened to old time music before starting lessons. I enjoyed playing but I still listened to rock and roll and folk music for enjoyment. My wife started taking old time guitar lessons so we could play together. When I took a break she started taking rock lessons. Turns out she is a heck of a guitar player. She plays the music we listen to.

pink Floyd, bob Dylan, Tom petty, Indio girls, john prine, even some ac/dc.

i bought a used guitar and have been learning basic cords so that we can play together again. The thing is, I miss the banjo sound.

i want to learn how to play the banjo to the types of music above. Is that doable? for a beginner? I just want to play in the background.  No stage dreams. We do have a nice community of players that get together and play. They want me to try and would be supportive. No tab available for what I'm looking to do.

Id love to find a skype teacher who could help. Any suggestions?

Any advice or thoughts are welcome.

thanks, Stephen
