Dear All,
I've pretty much gotten used to Double C tuning and like here in the last few weeks after learning Open-G.
I notice that many older tabs and publications use gCGBD tuning (Drop C, right?). Is there any inherent advantage in that tuning, besides the fact you have four different available open notes (assuming that that is even an advantage)?
Seems to me this is the equivalent set of intervals that the old Minstrel tunes used to use (I could be wrong) so maybe it's some sort of historical holdover?
Thanks,
Kevin.
