A tip for fragile fingernails

A couple months back, a student turned me onto the Fred Kelly Freedom Pick (http://fredkellypicks.com/product/poly-freedom-finger-pick/) .

I've tried the old trick of putting a finger pick on backwards and straightening it out a bit, and the Alaska picks, but both were a bit uncomfortable while the Fred Kelly feels good and stays put. 

I'm wondering, has anybody else tried these?  Has anybody found a more economical but similarly designed pick?  The design is fantastic and has been saving my fingernail while giving me some more volume but the clear design means I keep misplacing them and the cheapest I can find them is $3 per pick.
