Warm up hand exercises

I have osteoarthritis mainly in my left hand (with some swollen finger joints) which over the years has taken a pounding from holding down chords on various instruments (guitar, banjo, mandolin). My left hand small finger is locked in one joint. I had a look round on the Web for some hand warm up exercises to try and improve blood circulation before playing and found this video:

I have been doing them for a few months and they do seem to help as long as I don't apply excessive pressure when stretching, especially the exercise where fingers are pushed apart sideways. As the demonstrator says, be very careful not to overdo that one. Ease yourself into it gently.

I have no medical training and I was wondering if anyone in the forum did? Any physiotherapists around? The person in the video is a young man. How suitable are these exercises for older hands with osteoarthritis?
