This is my first post on the forum, but I've been search the posts for a couple of years and have gotten a lot of great pointers and information. Thanks guys.
I've been playing claw hammer for about two years. I've always played the guitar mostly in the key of C to match my voice. So, in the past two years I've learned to play my old guitar tunes on the banjo using C chords in open G tuning. But now as I've gotten older (I should say old), I find that the key of E or E-flat suits my voice better. I would like to be able to play in E or E-flat using open G type tuning and C chords without capoing up two or three frets. Capoed up two or three frets my banjo sounds pretty funky and I don't really like my thumb wrapped around the 5th string peg to get E-flat. Do you guys have a solution to my problem that I haven't been able to figure out?
