I'm interested in learning more about Wade Mainer's 2=finger picking style. I've watched his 3-part interview with David Holt on Youtube, but still can't see exactly what he's doing. I know he mostly used index-lead, but how often did he drop his thumb or mix index/thumb lead, how did he use his fingers? Were there any specific patterns in his playing or was it always more or less random? I'm not looking to copy him note-for-note, I don't know if I'll ever be that good, just a big fan of his style/sound. So far in my 2-finger journey (less than a year) I've played mainly thumb-lead originally inspired by Morgan Sexton but am starting some index-lead stuff.
