Folk Songs for Banjo

After having studied almost all the songs in Clawdan's gospel book, I found another clawhammer book focusing more on arrangements of vocal songs than fiddle tunes:

"Folk Songs for Banjo" by Michael Miles.http://www.halleonard.com/product/viewproduct.do?itemid=701919&lid=2&keywords=folk%20songs%20banjo&subsiteid=1&

It contains 40 well known folk songs with an arrangement of the melody and a break up the neck. Those breaks are still way above my limited claw-abilities, but the arrangements of the melodies sound fine. Tunings are either open G, double C, (new to me) open C or G modal (Is this sawmill?).

Just to give you an idea, here's a short rendition of "Freight train" in open C.(After a little guitar intro)https://soundcloud.com/tele1310/freight-train-1

Maybe one of these days, I will try to tackle the breaks, but for the next time, practicing the melodies will keep me busy.
