Whenever I learn a new tune from tab it seems that I always alter it in some way or another to suit my taste. Nothing drastic that would take away from the main melody but I always find something I feel either sounds better (to me) or makes more sense technique wise (again....to me). Is this normal? I almost feel that I'm betraying the original intent of the song in some way. Do most of you play songs note for note the way you learned them or do you find yourself altering them to some degree? Also when you teach someone a song do you tend to teach them your version or do you stick to the original source you learned it from?
