Kind of sounds like a stupid question, or an obvious one, but specifically I'm interested in progress during a plateau.
I ask because I'm coming up to my one year mark and definitely feel like I'm at my first long plateau. It seems like I need to put more effort--or maybe a different kind of effort--into the process now, to make noticeable gains.
I sometimes record myself but am so used to hearing myself play that listening to it removed doesn't reveal much anymore.
So what's your experience? When you plateau what do you grab onto as evidence of breaking through? Or do you just find new ways around and scramble things up a bit?
Since there isn't much happening here lately I thought I'd throw one out there.
Thanks, everybody!
