Good friday morning, all!
Our first TOTW for October '15 is another one of them new-old-time tunes, written by Chicago fiddler Jordan Wankoff. I tried reaching out to Mr. Wankoff a few weeks ago (via facebook) to get some insight about the tune, but never heard back. That being said, if anyone has any history or details about the origins of this fantastic little toe-tapper, feel free to chime in!
Below I'll post a series of links to my favorite live performances and digital downloads, and I'll attach a tab by the one-and-only Ken Torke (of http://www.taterjoes.com), as well as a few of my own recordings. If you're in the Mid-Atlantic, old-time music is about as sunny and warm as it'll get out there this weekend.. so off we go!
Roger Netherton (f), Charlie Shaw (bs), Brian Slattery (bj), Rachel Eddy (g) at Clifftop 2015. This video was my introduction to the tune, and I'm probably responsible for about 100 of those YT views! These four absolutely BURN through this thing:

Brambling is JP Gilbert (g), Tess Clancey (f), and Alex Hills (acc). No banjo (), but still a super-tight performance. This is the recording I used to learn the tune:

Old Buck is Riley Baugus (bj), Debra Clifford (g), Emily Schaad (f), and Sabra Guzmán (ba). One live recording from YT, followed by a link to their 2013 self-titled album:

The Horny Toad Rangers are Earnie Taft (f), Fred Moss (g), and Dean Barber (bj). Wish it was as nice a day here as it looks to be in their video:

Another great recording from fiddler Lynn 'Chirps' Smith. Two links - one to listen, one to purchase:

Last but most definitely not least, here are a few recordings from BHO's own Erich "vrteach" Schroeder and Craig "frailin" Evans:

This is a super fun tune to play, and very easy to get lost in. I hope you guys have fun listening/learning, and like every week, I look forward to hearing what anyone else has to contribute!
Oh, and please excuse the "fuzziness" of my videos.. I recently shattered the screen on my cell phone, so the front-facing camera has some uh.. "shards" in the way of getting a clear picture.
