Thank you to Hilarie Burhans for uploading a slow version of the Warsaw Freylechk on youtube so we could learn by watching her play it slowly.
Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5phB-PQAzs
This is played in Double D tuning, which is how I have been playing the majority of the Klezmer tunes I've been learning this week.
I like to check what I hear and play by ear with the actual musical notation, which I was able to locate at abcnotation.com (http://abcnotation.com/tunePage?a=www.andyhornby.net/Thursday%20night/klez/0024&m=p. However, the written key is Am, and I tried to change it to Dm by changing the "code" from F:Am to F:Dm, but the notes still show as the notes that one would find in Am.
To see what I've been doing, http://www.banjojudy.com/klezmer-music/
I am looking for any assistance I can get with writing banjo tabs - or maybe someone would like to volunteer????
This is really fun music. I'm having more fun with the banjo lately than I've had in years. Try it - you'll like it.
