I'm new to clawhammer, really only been playing it for about a month or so. I use my middle finger to hammer. I wondered whether it really matters where on the nail you strike the string with. It looks to me from the wear area on my nail that I'm mostly using the tip of the nail towards the side closet to my ring finger. Should I be trying to hit closer to the middle? Does it matter?
