Hey all -- I've been playing thumb-lead two finger for a little over a year now. I've been learning on a Deering Goodtime (with a resonator). I dig its bright "plinky" sound.
But now I'm looking to get a second banjo, an openback with a completely different sound, something on the other end of the spectrum -- more mellow and warm than bright, more "plunky" than plinky.
I'm not looking to spend more than 700.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Particular models/makes to keep an eye out for? (I understand that to really know, I've got to pick up a banjo, play it, and love it, but I'd be really grateful for any thoughts on where to start.)
Thanks in advance for your help!
