I feel like I've been playing long enough to have a good technical grasp of the instrument, as well as a sizable repertoire of tunes I've learned. The next step for me is playing tunes in my own style rather than from someone else's tab or playing or whatever. My problem is that there are a thousand different versions of Cripple Creek, Shady Grove, The Cuckoo etc. by a thousand different players. How can I go about playing these tunes so that they're my own?
