Perhaps this should be in a different section. Just a simple question regarding volume. I play/frail a Good Time. I can wail on the thing loud enough but I struggle to hear myself while playing in groups or on a recording, let alone playing too hard is not exactly pretty sounding. The sound just doesn't penetrate what the other instruments are producing. Any recommendations? I've tried picks but boy do they make a caustic sound to my hears, too harsh. Thanks.
