What is the difference between planetary and Scruggs tuners? How do I tell which one my banjo has? Please forgive me for my ignorance, but I'm playing in a banjo contest this Sunday and Scruggs tuners aren't allowed. (Not that I'd use them, anyway. I've never heard of a clawhammer player using Scruggs tuners. But we're not allowed to play on a banjo with them.) My banjo is an Recording King RK-R20, if that helps.
