What do you think of the pick you've been using for clawhammer? I destroyed my fingernails at work this week. So, now I'm wondering if it makes sense to have a finger pick for when this occasion arises. I do have Scruggs style picks that I've turned backwards for hammering. It just doesn't feel comfortable. Of course I've not used them enough to get comfortable with them.
I've exclusively used fingernails for playing and am accustomed to that. I suppose I could get used to using a pick of some type. Using a pick is better than the alternative of not playing at all. I've read a number of posts regarding different picks. Also, read that some dont' mind playing on the fleshy tip of the finger.
Comments or suggestions?
Regards,
Scott

Thanks for all the great ideas. I do like the idea of keeping it simple and using a short nail that won't get destroyed. Whether short nail or some type of pick, I have to practice to get used to the different feel. So, in that regard I have some work ahead of me whichever path is followed.
