If any of you are going to the CBA Father’s Day BG Festival in Grass Valley, I will be conducting two FREE banjo workshops for your learning pleasure, both on Saturday, June 16.
I haven’t seen the workshop schedule in print or on the Web yet (http://www.fathersdayfestival.com/schedule.aspx), but this is what I understand will be the schedule.

Sat., 6:00 pm: Beginning Old-Time Banjo
If you always wanted to learn clawhammer/frailing and/or two-finger picking, this is the workshop for you.
Even if you have been unable to learn the “secret” to clawhammer banjo before, I have figured out how to show you the “secret” in less than 45 seconds!
And I can show you two-finger picking in 30 seconds. This could be shortest workshop ever—don’t be late. :-)
NOTE: Bring your banjo! This is not one of those workshops where you sit around and listen to me talk—I will demonstrate certain things, and you can try them out on your banjo and get coaching if you need it. There will be printed handouts. I usually stay after the workshop to work one-on-one with anyone who wants extra coaching.

Sat., 1:00 pm: Basic Bluegrass Banjo Backup workshop.
If you always wanted to learn how to play effective backup, this is the workshop for you
I guarantee that you will be able to do at least one of the techniques perfectly within 10 seconds!
Designed for beginning and intermediate players; all are welcome (if you’re an advanced player, you can help with the coaching).
