I first heard this tune on the Mike Seeger album, Southern Banjo Sounds, and fell in love with it. I have tried learning this tune, but I tried it in standard D-tuning which I knew didn't sound right all. I managed to find a copy of the liner notes online and after reading I discovered Mike plays this in a tuning called the D-E-A-D tuning. I really have no idea what it is. Can anyone explain it to me?
