Greetings, My name is Don Andrade. I am a new member of this forum, with a forum/screen name of Bladesmith as I make hand forged chef knives for a living.
I had a lucid-dream about playing banjo and I could not get it out of my mind for a week or so. I figured it was the universe saying "get a banjo and learn" I was never really a fan of Bluegrass, but always loved old time folk music. I listened to much of this style of music growing up and now am beginning to learn clawhammer.
Any suggestions on where to learn would be much appreciated. Growing-up and through college I played clarinet and saxophone. Over in the past 7-years I have been playing Native American Flute and Japanese Shakuhachi Flute. I enjoy woodwinds but really think the challenge of a string instrument will be god for my brain and more social for sure:)
I hope it was OK to post here as I did not see an introduction sub-form and am interested in finding sources for learning.
Thanks so much and I hope I can contribute in some small way to the forum even though I am a total beginner!
