Hi All, I've been following the thread is clawhammer eaisier ,  minstrelmike wrote

(Once you can do that, then worry about the right hand. Frailing/finger-picking really aren't that different . They are ways to pluck strings. The string you pluck depends on the song. The song is defined by the chord or melody and to me, the simplest thing fro beginners to get working is chords.

Start simple and get a song that you already recognize working. This will NOT be a banjo tune., It might be America the Beautiful or Twinkle Little Star or Wagon Wheel (ez chords) but at least you will know when you've got the chord changes working well enough to express the song.

After that, start with basic picking/frailing and later, six months or so, worry about actually learning real banjo leads.)

Where can you get books with simple tunes wrote out showing the cords, I've got a great copy of Boil Them Cabbage Down but I'd like to find a book. Thanks Larry
