i've been trying to dig into the work of dan gellert lately, but trying to find his albums have been a little frustrating. as most of you know, almost all of it is out of print and pretty scarce, both physically and digitally. i was able to find one blog hosting a stream of his duo album "a moment in time," so i pulled all the audio from the page and threw them up on youtube.
i know dan gellert posts on this forum occasionally, and i will remove the audio the minute he asks. you can argue these recordings are paramount in the modern era of old-time music, and need to be heard. some of the best clawhammer/fiddle+fiddle/fiddle duets i've heard in a while. dan also plays some solid 3-finger on a couple tracks. i also love hearing his same personality translate on multiple banjos throughout the album - so so so much fun.
