Problems with a slide over two frets.

I'm still at the very basic stages of trying to master clawhammer, and this week i've been trying to learn "Undone in Sorrow" by Ola Belle Reed.

I'm working by the tab provided on TOTW here on the BHO, and it says you have to a slide from 2nd to 4th fret. Thing is, and granted i'm not used to slides yet so it might be that i'm just not good at them yet, this is the problem i have....

When i strike the string and slide it up to the 4th fret, by the time it's got from the 2nd to the 4th, it doesn't seem to have any "oomph" in it. No real discernable slide sound. It's like the length of the slide is too long for the sound to carry on up to the 4th.

Am i doing something wrong? Could i be sliding too slowly maybe? In which case i'll have to practice more because i find just the basic slide technique a bit hard at the moment.

Thanks for any help with this.

Calv.

ETA: The tab sheet i'm working from is on this page, halfway down, theres an image there....
