Right Hand Positioning!?

Hi, I'm relatively new to both this forum, and playing banjo in general. I started out playing Scruggs style, and have recently decided to try playing clawhammer.
With the right hand, when I want to hit a different string, am I supposed to keep my hand in the same position, and rotate my wrist to hit different strings, or curl my fingers further in or out?! This has had me confused ever since I started, and I can't seem to find much advice on it, any help would be appreciated!
