The more I play in GCGCC, the more intriguing I find that tuning. Seems ludicrous at first, tuning 3 out of 5 strings to C. Not only that, but the 1 and 2 strings are tuned exactly alike. But for the kind of tunes I like to play ( ballads, mainly ) t think this tuning sounds wonderful. And it's a neutral tuning -- neither major nor minor --, since it doesn't have a 3 note in it, so it accomodates songs in both major and minor key. And most of "the action" takes place from the fifth fret down. And much of the time, I can get away with fretting the strings with one or two fingers, so it's relatively easy to play. Probably other things, but these are the ones that spring to mind.
But what the heck's that tuning called? triple C? Old C? It must have a name, but I sure don't know what that name is.
